Aliens convicted of defrauding the government or illegally receiving public benefits would be deportable.
The House Rules Committee, chaired by Congresswoman Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, considered legislation on Monday that would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Under the Deporting Fraudsters Act of 2026, “Aliens who have been convicted of defrauding the United States Government or the unlawful receipt of public benefits are inadmissible and deportable.” Offenses under the legislation include the receipt of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, theft or bribery surrounding federally funded programs, and the fraudulent use of identification or Social Security numbers or cards.
The Bill to Outlaw Wounding of Official Working Animals (BOWOW) Act of 2025 would also render inadmissible and deportable any “alien who has been convicted of harming animals used in law enforcement.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chairwoman Foxx and members of the committee as they consider the legislation to amend immigration and deportation policies.
- For U.S. officials as they seek to update and reform U.S. immigration laws and regulations.
